I love summer cocktails; they bring to mind all sorts of happy memories like summer parties, poolside holidays and evenings out on rooftop bars. Truth be told, I love summer drinks so much that I have a list of recipes longer than my arm because I just can’t stop saving them to my Pinterest boards! Call it an addiction if you will, but my collection comes in very handy on a warm weekend and especially at parties. 🙂
Best of all, these beverages cover a whole range of gorgeous summer fruits so there’s something for everyone. See below for some of my favourites!
When it’s summer here in Australia, you’ll often find me on the hunt for fresh lychees and coconuts. I adore this fruit combo and when they’re paired with rum in a tasty colada? Heaven.
Passionfruit is so quintessentially summery, and this ‘summer on the rocks’ bourbon cocktail is all sorts of lovely.
Watermelon is the most refreshing fruit don’t you think? It’s perfect in cocktails during the summer season and when it’s teamed with papaya and rum, you have the perfect poolside beverage!
A few people have told me recently that they don’t like bananas, which I can’t get my head around because they’re so very tasty! Pair them with rum and some lime to cut through the sweetness and you have yourself a wonderful summer daiquiri.
I’ve recently gotten hooked on grapefruit to the point where I’d happily eat just that for breakfast in the warmer months. But as good as they are on their own, they’re even better when you add some mint and rosé to create this pretty little cocktail!
If you’re after a light, refreshing gin drink to sip on while you lounge by the pool, you can’t go past this lemon and raspberry fizz. Super tasty and perfect for whiling away the warmer months.
My husband loves strawberries and I love coconut, so I guess that makes this one a winner for both of us! 😉
Tart and sweet at the same time, with lots of refreshing ice, this frozen daiquiri is the best kind of treat on a hot summer’s day.
I’ll be honest, I’ve only had guava a few times in my life, but each time I’ve absolutely loved it. So I guess you can see why this guava sangria is high on my list of drinks to make this summer. Mixed with pear, fresh sage and a whole lot of cranberries, this promises to be one super tasty cocktail!
I don’t know about you, but when the warm weather rolls around, I get serious cravings for stone fruit, most of all peaches. And when they’re mixed up in a super tasty margarita like this one; well you know you’re onto a winner!
Packed full of flavour and the sweetest scent, cantaloupe is a staple in our house come summertime. Just add a bit of lime juice and some vodka and you’ve got a tasty cocktail that’ll go down a treat once the afternoon rolls around!
