Searching for a simple and cheap way to add a Scandinavian touch to your walls? Look no further. This minimal wall hanging is the perfect touch to any space in your home and only takes minutes to make, it’s so easy!
- Card stock (in any pattern/color of your choosing)
- Wood shapes of various sizes (Get creative! I found a couple wood letters “O”, “C” and a wood circle banner from Michaels)
- Spray Adhesive or Mod Podge
- 26 gauge wire
- Pokey tool (like an awl) for piercing
Begin by tracing each shape on the cardstock you desire. I left a couple shapes blank because I like the look of natural wood, but you could easily create your own patterns too using a paint pen to mix things up a bit!
Carefully cut out each shape with your scissors.
Spray or glue your cardstock to the wood shape. Allow to dry completely.
Once dry, steadily twist and push your pokey tool through the wood until you’ve created a hole. You will want to do this on a protected surface, as to not wreck any furniture. Be sure the tool width is big enough for the wire to go through. You will need to make a hole at the top and bottom of the shapes, depending on the design you choose for your wall hanging.
Cut the wire to the length you prefer and begin pulling the wire to connect each shape one to the other. With this particular wire, you can easily manipulate it to create knots as to prevent the wire from slipping out.
And just like that, you’re finished!
I love the look of this simple, yet modern geometric piece! It’s kind of like wall jewelry. You can have it hanging alongside your favorite pictures or even as a mobile from the ceiling. All in all, this little addition to our home is the perfect Scandinavian-inspired touch I’ve been looking for!
