Where I live we are experiencing an unexpectedly early fall. Days are filled with soft breezes, the occasional gentle rain, and overcast skies. And I love it. The kids are back in school, so there are no neighborhood noises to fill the void. Enter this DIY modern bamboo windchime.

DIY Bamboo Veneer Flowers on Lack Tables

A few of my favorite diy projects as well as this lovely veneer table how-to from Monica at Crafty Nest were featured yesterday on Daily Decorator. To give it a try, you’ll need:

  • tables in need of some personality (Ikea Lack side tables were used in the example)
  • large sheets of butcher paper
  • paper-backed bamboo veneer
  • household contact cement
  • photos of flowers
  • removable double-sided tape
  • fine sand paper
  • polyurethane
  • masking tape or painter’s tape

The $20 (Temporary) Bathroom Makeover

I’m going to come right out and say it. I HATE our bathroom with a
fiery passion. After living with it for a year-and-a-bit I decided that
something had to be done.  Now my first choice would have been to rip
it out, burn the pieces and salt the earth, cursing all the while.
Trouble is this is a rental, and the agency might have a problem with
that.
