Spring and summer is growing season, but that also means it's time to trim your yard. Trees, bushes, and shrubs need to be kept in shape, and to do that, it really helps to have sharp tools. It's faster and easier to cut with a sharp blade, plus it's better for the plant. In just a few minutes, you can actually sharpen garden tools yourself.
Yard work is hard enough without trying to do it with dull tools that don't work how they're supposed to. Continue Reading
As last year’s Curbly House renovation project demonstrated, a truly impressive curb appeal upgrade is the surest way to increase a home’s resale value. The front exterior of the home makes the most dramatic first impression, and that first impression will translate to a buyer’s perception of the interior as well. Here’s a before and after from our project:
A new concrete garage slab is a thing of beauty. But due to the porous nature of concrete, it doesn't take long before tough stains (like oil spills) make their way into any garage floor. Remember the garage turned home from awhile back? Well, here’s another one. This time the garage cum dream home belongs to Seattle-ite Michelle de la Vega, who not only designed her new house but did much of the remodeling herself. She even went to welding school to learn how to build the metal furniture and fixtures used in its furnishing.
The before photo is rather grim, but believe me when I tell you that the after will make you want to party all night long!
Streamers, ping pong, darts, and a piano?? This may be the best garage in these United States. Louisiana native and all-around style rock star AB Chao (who is, without a doubt, the most charming person I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting – her personality is as bright and colorful as her home), transformed her run-down garage into an energetic space fit for celebrating.
