Make It: Super Easy Frozen Yogurt Pops

Summer is coming! Cool down with a yogurt pop — this healthy frozen snack is a cinch to make. Here’s how.   

Karen from The Hazel Bloom came up with this idea: grab a small 4oz container of your favorite yogurt. Stab a popsicle stick or chopstick through the foil. Freeze. Pop it out and enjoy!

Green Candles

Holidays equals candles for lots of folks, but it turns out that your average candle is not as green as it could be.

Most
candles are made from paraffin wax, paraffin is a by-product of crude
oil. Crude oil…well you know the story. Even worse, the soot from
paraffin wax is apparently no good for your lungs and can cause
respiratory damage. There is also lead in the wicks of some
candles! Apparently the best way to tell is to part the threads o the
wick, and rub the metal core against paper, it it leaves a mark then

How to make your own liquid soap out of bar soap.

Making our own liquid soap out of regular old bar soap is easier than it might first sound, according to Casa Sugar. We can leave out the chemicals and add our own custom scents. Plus, it’s a great way to use up those soap slivers that disintegrate down around the shower drain.

Props you’ll need:
one 4 oz bar of natural soap
a food grater
1 gallon of distilled water (or rose hydrosol)
1 large pot
a hand mixer
essential oils for scent, optional
shea butter, virgin coconut oil or cocoa butter for moisturizing, also optional

Plan ahead and pack yourself some delicious, healthy, natural 100 calorie snacks instead of purchasing the prepackaged munchies at the store.   When I’m grocery shopping,  I’m usually hungry, which means I usually buy all sorts of goodies that tempt my eyes and brain to think I’ll be on my way to calorie control if I buy these cute little snack packages.  They’ve ingeniously marketed portion control to us, the mindless masses.  We can do this on our own with a little know-how.  Continue Reading
