I found a table (in someone’s trash, gulp) a few summers ago… a real one was out of my price range as a new homeowner. Some inventive fellow named Tim Thaler came up with the design for a mechanized kitchen island. Want a space to prepare your food? Kitchen island comes up. Want more square footage on your floor? Kitchen island goes down. And how does he operate the switch? With the click of a button on his iPhone. Yes, apparently there’s an app for that.
