Not every home comes with a room meant to be an office. Such was the case with this sweet makeover. By gutting the decor and starting fresh with a beautifully-curated gallery wall, this space became a beautiful home office that I would love to work at!
I’m sure you’ve seen giant spools being used as coffee tables before, but what about something smaller? Could you upholster a spool and make it look more modern? Well, it turns out the answer is yes, you can, and it looks even cooler than you might think.
New flooring, lighting, and a little tlc make the 'after' photos of this living room / kitchen / dining room combo look like the pages of an interior design magazine.
Doesn't it look like a whole new house? The floors make a huge difference, but the natural light really opens up the space. It looks much larger than the before photo. And the kitchen? Don't even get me started!
I love finding before and afters that are such a huge transformation, you can hardly tell it is the same space. This kitchen makeover is going to have you doing a double take.
The Oshawa, Ontario home of Michael and Sara Penney received a top to bottom makeover from the new owners. Every room has been redone, but my favorite transformation is the kitchen, with sleek subway tiles, a pale green backdrop, and honeycomb tile flooring. Continue Reading
Ahhh, there’s nothing quite like a good kitchen makeover. Especially when the “before” is, well, kinda scary. Not to worry, though. It’ll be safe to uncover your eyes in 3, 2, 1…
BAM! How’s that for an “after”?? Fresh and clean and full of light, just the way a kitchen was meant to be. This space absolutely sings, don’t you think? I’ve got to give mad props to the homeowner, Belinda Graham of The Happy Home, for completely turning this space around. Continue Reading
This basement renovation took a little over a year, but I’m willing to bet the “after” is what little kids’ dreams are made of!
Jessica Levitt, a designer, crafter, and blogger, turned this drab and dark basement into a playroom fantasty for her brother-in-law’s three children. I don’t know about you, but I would have LOVED this space as a kid! Heck, I even love it now.
There are loads of incredible pictures on Jessica’s blog Juicy Bits, so be sure to check it out!
You all know that many hideous side tables lurk in the furniture section of secondhand shops. Although, occasionally you’ll find some not-so-hideous side tables that would be fine left as is. Much to the dismay of many blog readers, painting wood really sometimes is “A Good Thing”. Mother and daugther design team, Suzanne and Lauren of Good Bones Great Pieces, show you what they found and exactly how they handily freshened them up to merge into a light, bright, airy room. For step by step instructions on how to turn a plain Salvation Army (I know, disloyal to my Goodwill) nightstand into an upholstered, colorful nightstand, check out www.apartmenttherapy.com January Jumpstart Midwest Project #14. The award post is under the East winners. For a few more before and after projects, check out my pictures on my infant blog www.fliptstudio.blogspot.com. Continue Reading
