How to Make Your Own Paint By Number Canvases

Nikki used Picnik, yup FREE Picnik, to create her own paint by number canvases. With the photo editor, she did a little cropping and a lot of softening. Then she popped the colors. After that, it was just a matter of transfering the lines of the image onto a store-bought canvas (her technique is genius) and filling it in with craft paint. Paint-by-Number Van Gogh??

When I was a kid, one of my older sisters was a fan of paint-by-number kits, the subjects being puppies and anthropomorphized mice and such. Apparently, things have changed in the paint-by-number world. Case in point: Reeves now has a Masters Collection.
