Here's the situation: It's summer. It's scorchingly hot outside, the sun is beating down, the A/C seems to be broken, and you just can't stop sweating. On top of all this, you still haven't had your morning cup of coffee yet! What do you do?? Recipe: 2 Extra-Special Valentine Treats Made with Popcorn

Flea Market Find guru Matthew Mead helps us get into the Valentine’s Day spirit with two darling treats made with, of all things, Angie’s Kettle Corn.

First, Honey Caramel Kettle Corn Balls (pictured above).

  • 10 cups Angie’s Caramel Kettle Corn (click here to find a retailer near you)
  • 3/4 cups butter, cut into chunks, plus more for your hands 
  • 3/4  cups honey 
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • wooden sticks of the popsicle variety
  • stickers, cutouts, etc for embellishments
  • cellophane, optional

How to Make a Rock Candy Chandy

Yup, this little chandelier is made out of candy. Not sure of its longevity or if it would attract wee beasties, but for temporary applications, it doesn’t get much more charming. Laura is our instructor for this project, and here is her materials list:

  • rock candy strings
  • bailing wire (16 gauge)
  • seam binding or ribbon
  • wire cutters 
  • scissors
  • hot glue gun and glue sticks

Make 5 Minute Ice Cream

How delish does that look? And just in time for warm summer weekend afternoon too! This quick recipe–yes, it only takes five minutes to whip up–has scant ingredients. They include:

  • 1 package frozen fruit
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla
