These days, no party is complete without a diy photo booth. They’re not only a fun addition to any shindig, but they’re a great way to capture memories and they create the most meaningful party favors in the world.
While renting an old-timey booth or hiring a company to run one are both nice options, they cost a pretty penny. The reality is, creating a custom photo booth using the electronics most of us already have around the house (e.g. Continue Reading
While the food and decor are usually the major focus for Thanksgiving preparations, it's worth thinking about what happens on Thanksgiving Day before and after the feast. Whether you want games to keep the kids busy while the adults are cleaning up, or family activities that everyone can do together, we have some ideas for fun Thanksgiving family games that might even distract everyone from rehashing the same old arguments. (MIGHT! We can't promise any miracles.)
While you could (literally) leave everyone to their own devices before and after the big meal, to probably stare at their own screens, Thanksgiving can instead be a chance to connect with friends and family. Continue Reading
When it comes to the holidays, there are lots of things that I look forward to. The seasonal desserts, the quirky traditions, and the festive decor, just to name a few. There is one thing that I dread, however, when family and friends gather: small talk. Maybe it's because I'm an introvert, or maybe it's because chatting about the weather makes me want to barf and yawn at the same time, but the idea of casual chatting-while-eating gives me anxiety. I've been a vegetarian for over 13 years now, and there aren't many meat-eating rituals that I feel like I'm missing out on. I don't crave hamburgers, I don't really care for barbecuing, and carving a turkey isn't my style either. Free wishes, though…that's something I could use more of! This quick Thanksgiving decoration is as close to a wishbone as I'm getting, and after the holiday I'll be ripping a few in half so I can make a wish anyway. Continue Reading

When it comes to Thanksgiving and Christmas, it’s easy to get obsessed about the details. The holidays only come once a year and it sucks to feel like you missed out on the festivities. We all have certain traditions that make the holidays just feel like the holidays. One year as a kid, my mom tried to change up Thanksgiving dinner. She didn't feel like cooking the same old turkey and green bean casserole, so instead we had a thematic dinner. Continue Reading
Baker's twine is one of those materials that I always grab if I find it at a good price… so when I saw gold baker's twine, I bought two giant rolls. Obviously. Because gold. But then I never did anything with it, until I realized that it would make an excellent tassel. And the gold baker's twine tassel garland was born! Click through to check out my tutorial.
The result is subtle with a touch of glam, thanks to the gold wire wrap at the top of each tassel. Continue Reading
